I was sent this interesting account by a reader recently. What impressed me was the simplicity of the events out lined. There was nothing that indicated the persons mother was doing anything other than just simply telling the truth. Nothing weird or sensational happened – it just seems very credible. I’ve personally known the author of this account for many years and can vouch for his honesty. It wasn’t until he read this blog that he offered the story for my on going research.

What an interesting site. You may be interested in my experience. Not a personal one.
Back in the late 50’s when my mother was suffering from a skin condition caused by the stress of looking after my step father through the final stages of Cancer, she was invited by a friend to enjoy a weeks summer break at her friends home at Chiddingfold near Guildford.
On the Wednesday my mother had retired to bed early, to read a book. At about 9.00pm the owner called up to my mother and asked her to come down stairs. This she did to find her host standing by the back door.
When my mother got to the door she saw a disc craft about 40′ across hovering over the local area. It had portholes from which shone different coloured lights and looking out from these portholes were what appeared to be people.
It hovered there for about 4/5mins gently revolving and then silently moved away.
Her host said that these craft’s often came in that way, but she had no idea why.
I have no reason to doubt my mother. She was not one to make up stories, in fact she was always very down to earth and practical, perhaps caused by the experience of a very hard life following her devorce.
I do, however, remember something unusual about her hosts garden. Her vegetables were absolutely massive, at least four times bigger that I had ever seen before.

Like I said, it’s the simpleness and matter of factness about the experience that stands out to me. It reminds me also of the strange events on the beach in Devon during the 1960’s that I out lined in another post.

Yeah my grandmother ( now passed away ) who lived near worplesdon in Guildford told me a similar story when I was a kid, she said above their garden one day was hovering a massive disc. She didnt tell me the date but it prob was around the 50s but Id need to check with my dad when she moved there.
She was a very sober and proper woman, quite highly strung, I’ve never had any doubt she was telling me the truth.
